How long do I have to complete the certificate?

Purchasing the certificate will give you access for 12 months and the course can be completed at your own pace.

How long does the certificate take to complete?

The certificate takes 13 hours to complete. The breakdown of the certificate is: Learning content = 11 hours, Case study = 2 hours.

What is the pass mark to receive the certificate?

60% overall.

Are there any pre-requisites for completing this course?

No. The course does direct to interesting further reading throughout, however none of this is required to complete the course.

Is there an assessment in each module, what does it look like and how long is it?

The only module that counts towards the final grade is module 5 (the case study). The content modules have short multiple-choice questions designed to assist with learning throughout the lessons. At the end of each lesson there is a 10-minute reflective exercise designed to help apply the learnings to the learner’s own organisation. At the end of each module there is also an applied exercise to apply the learnings to a scenario, the questions are not assessed.

How long is the case study and how is it assessed?

The case study takes approximately 2 hours, it’s made up of 4 different scenarios and will have multiple choice assessments. Each task can be completed in different sessions, it doesn’t need to be done in one go. Each set of questions will allow 3 attempts.

When will I get my certificate?

The case study assessment will be marked in real time and on passing the learner can download their certificate.

Does the ICAEW Sustainability certificate last for life or does it require CPD/membership fees?

This is a self-contained e-learning programme that provides a certificate of competence upon successful completion of the case study. There are no ongoing subscription fees or requirements.

Would the certificate be accepted as 'credit' for any 'related' academic courses?

No credits have been arranged with any other institutions, although you do get an ICAEW certificate of completion as a credential that you can use on LinkedIn, CVs etc.

What is the cost of the certificate?

The full price is £260+ VAT for non-members.

The price for ICAEW members is £225+ VAT and there are larger discounts available for multiple licence purchases.

Is this available to non-members?

Yes, the certificate is suitable for any finance professional.

Is the certificate more biased to someone working in practice as opposed to industry?

The certificate has been purposely designed to be suitable for financial professionals working in industry as well as practice.
